Chapelco
-Argentina-

by Gaston.

This resort goes from a beginner to an intermediate level.

This mountain has a small snowpark with a poma lift on one side, it has a halfpipe, a transfer and a table-top. In general it's walls are not very deep, with the exception of a couple ones which are usually filled with moguls...what makes them no fun at all!!! It's a great place to ride the woods and enjoy the beauty of the Lake view.

When it comes to out of bounce, there are a couple, but the mountain's shape itself doesn't allow deep walls and there are no caluars at all.

The lifts are very good, there is a bubble that takes you to the middle section of the mountain and from there on you've got triple-chairs.

What’s definitely good about Chapelco is that there are almost no queues at all... it's possible to ride almost non-stop cause lifts are so damm good!

The only thing that may cause little inconvenience to the beginner is the last trail down to the base... it's so dammed flat that a slight fall may cause the end of your "ride" and began your "walk"!

Transport from San Martin de los Andes to the base is done by this little-expensive buses... about u$s 5 one-way!. I don't know if there are any kind of discount for buying a set of them, but I do know that the round trip is no cheaper than buying one way...I don't get it, do you?

Lodge at S.M de los Andes is more expensive than Bariloche, but you can still find houses where rooms are rented for u$s15-20 per night/per person... anything else here can be expensive.
